Hey Nappinnai, the daughter in law of the great Nandagopalan, who has several elephants, who is the bravest warrior and the one who does not run away showing his back to his enemies, wake up and open the door young lady, the one whose hair has a pleasant fragrance.

The cocks have  been cooing aloud since the dawn has already set. The cuckoo birds also have been chirping aloud since it has dawned. Can you not hear them?

You are sleeping with the ball in your hand with which you played with our little Krishna.

We have been singing praises about your husband Krishna. You too come and sign with us. Your beautiful lotus colored hands are adorned with lots of bangles. Wake up and happily open the door with the sound of your bangles reaching our ears when you walk down to the door.

P.S. It is out of love for Krishna that i have attempted this translation. A million apologies to all the scholars and the learned if i have committed any mistake(s) .
